This post has been so fun for me! Fashion is something I have always loved, and in my pre-baby life I like to think I was a bit more fashionable – ha! One of my high school senior year superlatives was “best dressed,” and I laugh at the thought of my trendy little seventeen year old self and what she would think of this athleisure wearing mama. But jokes aside, I still do love fashion and clothes in general so when I discovered Rent the Runway a few years ago I was hooked. To be honest, I kind of forgot about it for a while and just recently re-discovered it thanks to the bajillion weddings we’ve attended over the past year.
What I’ve always done is order the dress on the Thursday before my Saturday event to give me time to try it on. I read the reviews and look at the photos of the dress on a normal body and make my decision based on what others are saying. For instance if someone writes “not great for a larger bust” I just pass on the dress because #notgonnahappen. When you order a dress on a Thursday, instead of the return window being Sunday you return Monday by noon to your local UPS which gives you an extra day to get organized. All dresses come with a a prepaid return label annnnnd you’re able to pick a back up size for FREE! So I always have 2 of the same dress arriving to my doorstep. You can also add on a second dress at a discount if you have more than one event to choose from. If you want to try it out, here’s my referral link to Rent the Runway! I’m a big fan of their accesories and have ordered the same pair of earrings twice already, which still saved me $$ from buying the actual pair myself.
This post is in no way sponsored by Rent the Runway, this is my honest opinion about a company that I think is really cool. As a woman, if you have an event to attend where you know a lot of photos are going to be taken don’t you buy a fancy dress that you literally wear like one time? I’m guilty! This is where RTR comes into play. There are endless options (casual, work, maternity, black tie, etc. etc.) to choose from and now they’ve branched out into tops, jackets, purses, and accessories making casual outings an option for rentals too! Spyros is fascinated with the concept of the company and really wishes I had thought of it first – ha!
SO! With the holidays approaching you’re bound to have a ton of events. I’ve created some graphics below with what I would wear to events that you all requested. All of the items (except the shoes) are available to rent on RTR. All items are clikcable or use the “shop the look” tab underneath for more details! xx
