Hi friends! I’ll be the first to admit that Elise and I got in quite the summer slump in terms of blogging. Life with babies is hectic and a big kudos to all the blogging mamas who so effortlessly balance it all: motherhood, frequent blog posts, instas, etc. Elise and I came to agree this summer that this sweet space of ours is a wonderful hobby and creative outlet that the two of us get to enjoy together BUT, the second it becomes stressful or “un-fun” we have to take a step back. During summertime, with the chaos of no routine, it was really hard for us to commit to a blog schedule, so, we took a bit of a break. We really appreciate those of y’all who are always checking in and supporting us! More often than not, you’ll find us actively on Instagram (we’ve been slack on that too lately) – but the full on blog post and pictures have been TOUGH.
On that note, my little family has been going, going, going since July. From beach trips to bachelorette parties, to family time in Rhode Island for 2 weeks, to weddings on weddings…I’ve barely been home and the wreck of my house and overall organization can prove that! Truth be told, I was SO OVER summer and SO READY for a routine…we have 3 weddings between now and October (2 down, 1 to go) that ALL involve/d travel, so, life isn’t showing signs of slowing down anytime soon! Oh wait, it will actually slow down just in time for the holidays (insert sarcasm).
For my memory’s sake…I’m going to share some highlights (and outfits) from our crazy, busy, fun-filled summer!
Pawley’s Island, SC | My One-piece
The last weekend in July, I headed down to Pawley’s Island for my bff of 20 years (crazy to be bffies for that long!!) bachelorette party! I had the best time with high school friends and I loved spending time with her college girlfriends…it had been several years since I’d seen them and I loved catching up and watching my girl’s world of friends collide in a good way as we all gathered to celebrate her upcoming wedding!! We drank grapefruit shandys on the beach and I discovered that organic sunscreen is crud and am still fighting off tan lines. But, I was wearing my favorite one-piece that cost me a whopping $23.99 – I’m wearing a size M for reference!
Next up we headed to Watch Hill, RI to spend some family time with my in-laws! Evie and I stayed for about 2 weeks while Spyros came back and forth in between the work week. Evie had so much fun as a Southern girl exploring her New England roots and this Mama got to enjoy time with Spyros’ parents and grandparents one-on-one, time I will forever cherish! I also picked up a tennis racket for the first time in well over 15 years and LOVED it! We had a magical time, as always, in Watch Hill. A place that will forever hold a special part of our hearts as it is where Spyros first told me he loved me and then asked me to marry him 4 years later :).
We always go to Watch Hill the first week of August for the member guest golf tournament at the club. Spyros plays with one of his best friends every year and fun fact: they won the tournament the year we got married! This year, the boys made it into the Championship flight and sadly lost on the last day, but, I felt like a winner because I got Evie to fall asleep in the ergo as my MIL and I drove around in the golf cart cheering them on! There’s something so precious about your baby sleeping on your chest, especially now that she’s not such a baby anymore!
Throughout said weekend there are fun parties and I absolutely LOVE getting dressed up for all of them…here’s a peek into my outfits :).

Saturday Night Party at the Golf Club:
We truly had the most fun in Watch Hill. Evie was a doll (as long as I put her to bed at night…she was NOT a fan of babysitters putting her to bed) and she really had the best time being doted on by her family! So did I :)!!
Once we got back into town, we had a few days to recoup and then Spyros and I headed down to Charleston to celebrate the marriage of some of our dear friends. We hadn’t taken a solo trip together since Evie was born (loooong overdue) and the quick getaway made us realize we need to do that more often. It was recharging and amazing to just be together without our precious little mess of a toddler!
After our Charleston wedding we had a week to recover before I geared up for bridesmaid duties and headed to Charlottesville, Virginia! This wedding was on a beautiful vineyard with horses – there was rain but it didn’t dampen the day one bit!
Now, summer is over and I am adjusting to a new routine with Evie as she started preschool. We traveled to one more wedding up in Connecticut (forgot to take a single picture – no joke) and came home to a sick baby girl. Once Evie gets well, I am hoping that she will continue to adjust to her new normal of preschool a couple of days a week (she’s been crying her face off while she’s there) so this Mama can carve out some time for all the things I want to do: workout, blog, organize this house! If you’re feeling anything like me then you are happily welcoming in fall, y’all!!!
