One Room Challenge week FOUR! And still three more to go thanks to a generous extension due to the many natural disasters the U.S. has recently faced. This week was allll about the walls (week one post here | week two post here | week three post). Spyros and I took advantage of Evie’s naptime (and a little bit of time after her nap) to wallpaper the wall behind our headboard and oh my gosh do we love it!!! A huge thanks to Wallpops for helping me (and Spyros) achieve my Joanna and Chip Gaines goals. Seriously, we were DIYing shiplap wallpaper on our own walls…that’s about as “fixer upper” as we’re going to get!
To say that I am obsessed with the way the walls turned out would be the biggest understatement. They add so much depth and texture and just a major “wow” factor to our somewhat tiny master bedroom. Even Spyros loves it. The wallpaper has a texture which makes it even more realistic and the slight gray tones are really natural and pretty. It’s definitely making our bedroom go from “eh” to “oooohhh!!” and I like that.
While I am obviously NOT going to show you all a huge picture of what it looks like (sorry you have to wait for reveal day) I hope you’ll enjoy the little sneak peeks. I’ll leave you with a mental image of my 5’4″ self standing on a step stool with heels on because being short and wallpapering is very challenging…and yes, that really did happen. Other than just being short, it was actually really easy to apply the wallpaper and dare I say fun to do together?! We didn’t argue once…and we messed up twice (in 3 total hours) which I don’t think is bad at all. But, remember, it’s peel and stick…so, when I realized I didn’t like the way the seams looked on one of the panels, we just peeled it off and reapplied.
This week has made me even more excited for the big reveal. Our new lamps came in yesterday and I think they look 10000000x better than the previous lamps do. The AV guys and an electrician will be at our house bright and early tomorrow to start the process of rewiring so we can mount our TV (and get a few more non-aged outlets in our bedroom)! I can’t wait to see how that looks. I have some pictures to hang and frame and then voila…the space will be complete! Pinch me!!!
A big thank you to Bellacor, Pine Cone Hill an Annie Selke Company, and Wallpops for believing in my vision and supporting our blog and the One Room Challenge! Don’t forget to check out the other hundreds of ORCs that are happening all over the US!
