Hello One Room Challenge week THREE! Three more to go…OMG. This week is much more exciting than the previous two (week one post here | week two post here) because there is progress! Slight progress but progress nonetheless. And a majority of this progress is in the form of new bedding! I am sooooooo happy with how I incorporated our “old” euro shams and duvet into this new and clean, crisp, light and airy look. A big thank you to Pine Cone Hill, an Annie Selke company, for bringing some much needed white bedding into our master bedroom!
The euro shams and duvet are a few years old from Pottery Barn and the leopard decorative pillows are from Piper Collection, a company that my dear friend, Whitney, owns and runs…she is the definition of #girlboss. I love the fun pop of animal print these pillows bring to the room!
Last week I shared with y’all my shiplap wallpaper dilemma. Well, I received the wallpaper in the mail this week, and I am OBSESSED with it. Take a look at it here, and let me just tell you the photos do not do it justice. The wallpaper has literal texture giving it a super realistic look. Elise was over when I got the package and we took it out and oohed and ahhed over it and then promptly kept sniffing the wallpaper and saying, “Ohhh my gosh this smells like childhood”… because when you are the daughters of an interior designer, you take your mom’s wallpaper books and play “pretend designer” when you’re a child. And, therefore, wallpaper smells like childhood.
Truth be told, I’ve gone back and forth about where to place the shiplap…behind the headboard or behind the dresser/on the wall that Spyros and I see when lying in bed. Well, y’all, I just can’t get behind the wall opposite of the bed. My mind doesn’t envision it there and I really just don’t trust it won’t look like I forgot to wallpaper the rest of the room, so, the accent wall will remain behind the headboard and I realllyyy want to hang it this weekend with Spyros. Pray for us and our marriage! JK. Kind of :)!
Let’s have fun with this little bedding transformation…
To monogram or not to monogram the new white pillow…that is the question!!!??!
On another note, I also had an AV person come out and talk to me about pricing to rewire the cable in our bedroom so we can mount the TV and eliminate the wires running under the rug that are visible in the room. So he’s going to quote me on that, and if all goes to plan we’ll get an electrician over to the house to put some outlets in better places in the bedroom for us. I’m super excited about this non-glam task because it desperately needs to be done. Our house was built in 1954, and while it has been renovated, there are aspects that remind us that it is an old house!
And, oh my goodness, I would be silly to forget to show y’all the NEW DRESSER. I mean can we get a big ol’ Praise Jesus Hallelujah! But seriously. Can’t wait to make this space even prettier! Ignore the pretty decorative bowl hidden by the dust bunnies…it will fit better once that dang TV is mounted :)!
I can’t wait for even more goodness to share next week! I know at the beginning I didn’t think I could pull this challenge off, but now I am loving this and am so excited about how (hopefully) great this room is going to turn out!! Don’t forget to check out the other hundreds of ORCs that are happening all over the US!
