This summer is such a game changer in terms of feeling more confident in my own skin. Last summer I had an infant, was breastfeeding, and just felt like I needed to wear all-flowy-everything or workout clothes all of the time. If you read this post about how I’ve learned to embrace my mom body – you’ll see that confidence hasn’t always been my thing! Getting in front of the camera to showcase my outfits is still something that I am getting comfortable with, but I’m learning to embrace this stage of life, and encouraging other mamas to dress up and remember that they are still the people they were before becoming a mommy is super important to me! If anything, I am the best and happiest version of myself.
This weekend Spyros and I went to a little summer soiree where we toasted a dear friend who is heading off to MBA school (luckily not too far away!). It was so fun to find a summer dress that felt fun and flirty. Also, it is only $55! Yup. Last summer anything that had any sort of gap near my boobs wouldn’t have been possible, and I’ll be honest and say some fashion tape went into pulling this look off, but I absolutely love this dress and cannot wait to wear it all summer long. Date nights, cook outs, you name it!
The dress is midi length which I love because if I feel like I’m showing some skin up top then I definitely don’t want to be showing a lot of leg. That is the balance I have always tried to find when getting dressed. I never want to be too revealing, so I try to balance my top half and bottom half. If it’s a mini dress, let’s leave cleavage to a minimum, if it’s a long dress, a little cut out isn’t going to kill anyone, right?!

This dress has button detail all the way down and is truly as flattering as it is comfortable. I wore it with open toe espadrille wedges and minimal accessories to keep it cool and casual. I love my monogram clutch – I carry it all year round and it holds my iphone, credit card holder, and lipstick with ease.
The little bow tie front makes the dress so feminine and I just loved the ease of wearing my hair wavy with a bold lip and calling it a night. Now, if only I had a little bit more of a tan – ha! Time to get my tried and true sunless tanner out!
